Lesotho Flag
The flag of Lesotho was adopted on January 17, 1987. The first flag of Lesotho, seen below, was adpoted on October 4, 1966, the day of Lesotho's independence. It featured a prominent white Basotho hat. The blue stood for sky and rain, the white for peace, the green for land, and the red for faith. Following a military coup which ousted the Basotho National Party, which had ruled the country since 1966, the current flag was adopted. According to the government, the figure in the white is the traditional Basotho shield along with an assegai (lance) and knobkerrie (club). The white stands for peace, the blue for rain and the green for prosperity. Emblems and designs are executed with the highest possible degree of accuracy in regard to detail, color shades, placement and proportion to flag size.
All flags banners are two-sided and come standard with two metal grommets. They are easily mounted on a flag pole or used as a wall hanging. The flags we sell are typically 14% - 64% heavier and are better stitched to assure durability.
