Qatar Flag
The flag of Qatar has a proportion of 11:28. It is maroon with a broad white serrated band (nine white points) on the hoist side. The flag was adopted on July 9, 1971. It is similar to the flag of Bahrain with the proportions (11:28 for Qatar) and the colors (maroon for Qatar) different. The color is said to have been red, but after it was painted, it was left to dry in the sun thus it's color faded and became Maroon. The Maroon color appealed to whoever made the flag and it was changed to Maroon. Each flag conforms to all official specifications.
